Hip, cool, modern, tasty. I went here on a Wednesday night at about 7:30. It was hopping (or as hopping as it can be with social distancing and limited capacity) They do require masks and a temp check. We sat at the bar. Attentive bar staff that had suggestions led to me getting a delicious purple gin drink. We kept going with their tuna crisp appetizer, which paired truffle with tuna. While tasty, it was very small, especially for 15. The stars were the rolls. I usually never have tempura with a roll but the prawn dynasty roll was great. Even the tropical breeze roll, which featured mango and serrano pepper (certainly not traditional ingredients) was really good. Definitely want to go back and try some other sushi options.

I’m pretty familiar with what good sushi is supposed to be and taste like, and this is not it. Easily some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The prices are way too expensive and it’s just not good food in general, I thought it was authentic Japanese, but it’s just Americanized and overdone. I’ve had much better sushi at real Japanese restaurants and they don’t charge as much as this place. I’ve been to Tokyo where the sushi is real, and honestly the sushi I bought at the convenience stores was better than this place. Although it does have a beautiful atmosphere and good quick service, so in that regard it’s a good restaurant, but if you’re choosy about your sushi like me, this ain’t it.

Best sushi we had in the South. Yes, CA and Las Vegas have more options with live seafood- lobster sashimi, live jumping shrimps, sea urchins, etc. But what they have here is excellent. Foods - fabulous, just look at the photos. Crafted cocktails were interesting & unique. Service - better than most. Quick turnaround in food & drink orders. They had 6 sushi chefs behind the counter. Ambiance- small intimate casual, not pretending. Some outside seating. Price - not cheap, but is any sushi cheap. Very reasonable. Parking - valet or self parking (5) in adjacent parking garage. Just make sure you come out the right spot because the restaurant is on a corner. Don’t make the mistake I did, ended up walking 65% of the block.

Over the past 2 years I have come to love sushi and am always excited to try a new place or a new roll. While visiting Atlanta, we decided to try Eight Sushi because of how good the reviews were, despite the ridiculous prices. The atmosphere was great and the service was good, but I have never had worse sushi. The rolls were odd, unbalanced, and unnecessarily spicy. The menu takes bold risks on combining non traditional sushi flavors and textures and desperately tries to be innovative and fresh, however, it fails miserably. The Kings roll, the first roll on the menu and the most expensive, was easily the worst sushi roll I have ever tried and the others weren’t much far off. The menu also doesn’t feature any classic, go-to rolls, such as a California or crunchy shrimp, and forces you to choose from their hot mess of sushi rolls. If this was the first place I ever tried sushi, I would never eat sushi again. If I lived next door, I would rather drive, scratch that, walk across Atlanta to get sushi.
