I called Mediacom (our only wifi option) 2 weeks before moving in and had to wait a month for install but luckily it would only be 2 weeks at the new place. The install date comes, they stated tech would be there between 12-5pm and will also call first to verify. I called around 3pm just to make sure all was well and they confirmed yes you are on the list, he should be calling. I kept my phone attached to my hip the whole day and no VM or missed call. I call back at 4:55pm and after a 15 min hold I’m told the tech tried to call and left a voice message. I stated no missed call or message on my phone, she said well he called so we will have to reschedule you. The next available appointment is in a month, after some back and forth and a lot more hold time they were able to squeeze us in 2 weeks later. I made sure I called every hour on that date to verify. Also, the tech installed our modem in the very end room of our 1700sf ranch home because some cable was already there, how lazy! I know he knows his modem is the worst and service would suck anywhere past the half way point of the house. Needless to say, I purchased a new modem and it’s slightly improved but still have dropped service in different areas of my home.

ABSOLUTELY the WORST service. Goes out daily, We've been in our home for 3 years, I've had over 10 new modems, and am on a first name basis with most of the technicians that come to our house . A complete waste of money. Mediacom has us roped in because we live out in the country. They cost an absolute fortune and when it does go out you get maybe a dollar or two off of your bill . Again it's a beautiful sunny day here and the Wi-Fi is out.

This company is terrible. They oversell your neighborhood which leads to terrible service. If you are expecting to use it for gaming don't bother. Not only do you get to enjoy copious amounts of packet loss, the connection has a lot of jitter. Avoid this company at all costs. If I could give these crooks zero stars I would.

Scheduled to have internet installed, I just moved into my home, so I’m painting while I wait for the tech to arrive. Phones in the other room, don’t hear it ring. I go check it, I have a voicemail from media com. Check it and it said my apt is now cancelled/on hold and needs to be rescheduled. I call them back less than 10 minutes after they called, they proceeded to tell me that I lost my spot and that they MIGHT have a tech available to come to my house today. And if I wanted to reschedule I can. I was never informed of this “rule” they have, they were not understanding at all. Just kept saying “this is our policy”. Canceled it before I ever got the internet. Called Metronet and they are coming out the same day to install. Stay away from these people. They don’t care about new customers. Can’t imagine what it’s like for existing ones.

I would give ZERO stars if possible! Mediacom is horrible service that works intermittently and is way over priced. Given the run around with customer service, prices and everything changes with each person you talk to. Absolutely awful, not to mention customer service inside the physical location was worse. Definitely going to be looking for other providers and I recommend not to use this service.
