A staple in NYC's culinary landscape, everything in Eli's is top shelf (and priced accordingly.) Go here for a slurge on any of your favorites -- cuts of meat or ready made soups.

I got "got." I was cold, thirsty and in a rush. No prices are listed on any of the items and I was left aghast at the register. They charge spindrift soda by the pound! I kid you not (see receipt). I almost got duped into buying a half loaf of bread for 10.99 but declined. Boxed spinach for 10.99. Pretty obscene. Hard pass Eli's-should be ashamed of these consumer practices.

Baguette at 6!!! Are you insane or just take your customers for fools. You’re a grocer shop in Manhattan not a jewelry bazaar in Dubai! There is something called corporate responsibility. You don’t have any. A baguette at 6 while Orwashers sells a superior baguette at 3.75, Balthazar’s baguette is 3.00.

I made sourdough starter from this flour and it has been *flourishing*. Definitely try this flour if you’re looking to make sourdough starter! The market itself is a little pricey, but the quality of the food is really good. It was fairly well-stocked when I went, as well. I also highly recommend the wine shop. I talked to the employee to get recommendations based on my tastes — all the wines I purchased were delicious!

Whatever you do, don't buy groceries here. The price mark up should, and most likely is, illegal price gouging. The exact same items you can find a block away at a different store are 2 to 3 times the price here. I found a cheese that you can order from the makers website for 29.99 and there it was 49.99 or so. Appalling. Most things have no prices on them either.

No thanks. I was in there at 530pm on a Monday, and the place was deserted. Why, you ask? Romaine lettuce 10 for a bag. Soup, 30 for a quart container. Heirloom tomatoes, 16 a pound. Dry aged New York strip, 50 a pound. We walked out and dropped 150 at Citarella, just a few blocks away. Will not return ever, prices are so exorbitant.

Eli’s Market has the most gorgeous variety of flowers. I come in and get potted plants I get flowers to bring for a special occasion. It is always suitable and I can get different colors of flowers based on my mood that day.

Each week I order from home shop. I couldn't be more pleased. Great personal service.
