Excellent! Service is slow because the place is so busy! But well worth the wait! Best BBQ in the Newark/Elizabeth area in my humble opinion! They don't overdose you on rice and fries but give you a good amount to fill you up but not bloat you out! Great seasoning on the ribs/chicken. recommend

I’m from the area for over 40yrs and although I switch from time to time from our other fantastic local restaurants, I have no negative experience to mention for this Algarve BBQ on North Ave and Jackson St. Since they changed owners about 3 months ago the food has been great, the service is great and pick up is not like the other places or prior owners where they are waiting for you to get there to start preparing your order. Marley who took my order over the phone and Carla (sorry if I got your names wrong) who handled my order were both very nice, polite and attentive that my order was correct and had me in and out quickly. Thank you for a great experience and will continue ordering from them. Ordered 2 whole orders of mixed pork and beef ribs w/rice and fries and 1 order of whole BBQ chicken w/ rice and fries for my friends visiting who also loved it.
I usually order take-out. They have a great service and the best Pork Ribs, Rice and Fries Combo. They speak Portuguese, Spanish and English. I went to the restaurant with my whole family and the service was awesome as well the food. Loved my Chicken Parm. I really recommend both, the restaurant and the take-out.
