The Veterinary Specialty and Emergnecy facility was the most sympathetic, caring and professional group of individuals to help us. It was a great comfort for my wife and I to choose this facility to have our dog put to sleep. The nurses and the doctor did a wonderful job and we can't thank them enough. God bless this place.

We had a fun adventure when we noticed our cat eating a piece of string like spaghetti. Unfortunately by the time we chased her around, she swallowed it. Our normal vet couldn't help and the ER vets they recommended had a 5 hour wait time. When we called Elk Grove, they took our info and when we pulled up, came and got our girl immediately. They induced vomiting and within an hour she threw up the string. We are so grateful for the timeliness that ensured our baby wouldn't have invasive procedures and glad she will be ok. They were also the nicest of the clinics we called. Thank you for saving Mo!

I was very pleasantly surprised at the great professionalism and compassion I received even if it was my first time there. I had to bring in my cat Oliver Stone on New Years Day, I was stressed and upset and a mess. But they took Oliver in from my car and Dr Miller kept me informed over the phone about everything. He was so knowledgeable and so caring. I had to say goodbye to my baby boy that night but I got to hold him and say goodbye and I know it was the best decision for him to end his suffering. The staff and Dr Miller are incredible people and I am thankful to them for helping me thru this difficult time.

This review is a long time coming, but I was shuffling through some of my dogs old vet paperwork when I came across the bill for this place. I remembered the terrible experience and shoddy advice I received from this clinic. Two years ago, my dog had a visit with Dr. Fry for a liver issue and disc problem in his back. This so-called \expert\ suggested that my dog's situation was dire, and that we should prepare to \say our goodbyes.\ Good thing we did not listen to her \expert opinion\ because with the help of some medication, two years later my dog is still here, happy, and as playful as ever. That's two years (and hopefully several more) of dog walks, trips to the park, playing fetch and joy, that we would have been robbed of had we listened to her incompetent opinion. I debated writing this review, however it is important to inform other pet owners of my experience. Be cautions of dire-opinions like mine, and always seek a second opinion if you are having doubts. Some of these veterinarians feel like they know everything, and will jump to half-witted conclusions at your expense. Do not prematurely end the life of your animal at the advice of this clinic.

I just want to start by saying this is not my regular Vet. Our regular Dr has normal business hours and our issue happened about 9:00 at night. Our pet was 15 years old and had many issues and she wasn’t doing well that night. From the minute we got there they immediately showed us compassion and treated us as if we were family. They did a thorough exam and explained to us that there were multiple issues. They offered us many options and explained each one very well. In the end the only humane option was to euthanize her even though that was the last thing on our minds. The Dr explained that she was suffering and in pain. During this difficult time they informed us that only 2 family members are allowed in to be with her in the final moments but we have 5 in our family and we all needed to be there. Without hesitation the Dr said he can accommodate us by coming out to our vehicle to do the procedure. In this difficult time he offered us some relief by allowing us all to be there. I would love to thank the Dr and staff for treating my pet Laine with such love and respect in her final hours. I wish we knew about them before this happened because we would definitely pick them as our regular Vet.
