Our 6 year old Sheltie, Penny, came from an abusive and neglected situation when we rescued her. She had never had a name or been inside a house. She lived in a crate inside a barn, and was used for breeding at a puppy mill. Training wasn’t even a thought. We turned to Monica and her team at The Fine Canine for long term training, boarding, and to help her become acquainted and trusting of people. After being with Fine Canine, Penny knows her name, has better house manners, recalls basic commands, trusts people when she gets to know them, and has become a happy, joyful little girl. She also walks on a leash. Monica is so kind and gentle with Penny. She needed special attention to get past the mental blocks and fear that she accrued over 6 years of abuse. Monica knows what type of training and encouragement is needed for her. When we go out of town, I trust no one else with Penny. I can feel confident that she is well taken care of by her entire team. They treat her as their own and will even check in to see how she’s doing. I can tell Penny is genuinely loved by all of them.

The Fine Canine Dog Training School was recommended to us by family members. Ace is the first dog my wife and I have ever owned and we were looking for help in making sure that Ace was trained appropriately because we did not feel confident to do it ourselves. Our family recommended Monica from The Fine Canine School. After having conversations with Monica, my wife and I, felt it was best to enroll Ace into the 10-day Boarding School training. My wife and I have three children and it was important for all of us that Ace get the best possible training and that we would be prepared to continue the training moving forward. After the 10-day boot camp, Ace came back trained and exceeded all of our expectations. Ace followed all of the commands he was trained on and was still the same lovable puppy we fell in love with. Ace has been a part of our family now for almost three months and he has continued to be a dog that brings our family so much love and has been adored by many in our community. We owe this due to the training he received from Monica. Putting Ace through training at Fine Canine was the best decision my wife and I could have made and we will be signing up for additional training courses because of our positive experience. Monica is simply incredible. She has now trained 5 of our dogs (1 Golden Retriever, 1 EC Golden Retriever, 2 Corgis, and most recently our Bernese Mountain Dog puppy), and we will never use anyone else. We moved out of state and still sent our second Corgi and BMD to her because she’s that good and we believe in her program that much. Each of our dogs have come out happy, healthy, and well-trained and their training has stuck with them for life. Monica gets results and has an incredible eye for what each dog needs. Her training method instills confidence, consistency, and creates dogs who are genuinely eager to please. When your dog graduates from her program, she gives the owners a thorough lesson in what the dog has learned and how to maintain their training at home, as well as observations about their personalities and likes/dislikes. She also pays careful attention to their health while their in her care; she stays on top of any issues or treatments, and also makes sure to inform the owners promptly. Monica is professional and passionate about what she does, and her canine graduates are a testament to her program. Even though we are states apart, we will never use anyone else to train future puppies. I will recommend her to anyone.
We added a German Shepherd puppy to our family, a very busy breed known for being super protective. We did the 4 week boarding training program with Monica and the Fine Canine team and couldn't be happier! Not only has Roxy stopped the inappropriate biting/chewing, she has many commands and she got loads of socialization because Monica took her everywhere! She is so good with other dogs and strangers! We will definitely use the Fine Canine for continuing education for our girl! Highly recommend!
