A fantastic area to hike and enjoy the outdoors. The visitor center was closed. We hiked the Creek Trail which is a 2.5 mile loop. With all of the recent rain, the trail was wet and muddy in some places. The trails are well maintained and grass was recently cut. Natural Lands is doing a great job in acquiring land and making it available for the public to enjoy.

Another beautiful Natural preserve. Trails through fields and woods with lovely creeks. Empty on a cold Monday.

We went there today to go in a hike. We had a great time, the views were breathtaking. It's very clean and has set markers so you don't have to worry about a wrong path.

I was a first time visitor to Natural Land’s Crow’s Nest Preserve on Sunday June 9, 2019. The visitor center was closed which was no surprise but the uni-sex restroom was open. I grabbed a trail map from the display and decided to hike the yellow-marked Creek & Chief's Grove Trail which is listed at 2.5 miles. The low areas were quite muddy. The higher parts of the trail go around corn fields. I didn’t see any wildlife other than a few butterflies and dragonflies. I saw a farmer spraying the cornfield which was the only wildlife I was able to observe. The hike took about two hours in the intense sun. I found that the trail was quite boring. I ended up only took a few pictures. The high feathery cirrus clouds in the crisp blue sky were the highlight of the trip. On some trails horses are allowed. No bikes are allowed. There is a small but ample parking lot. The hours are dusk to dawn. Be aware of the constent gunfire from the nearby gun club. Desturbs the peaceful atmosphere.
