They moved my piano just fine, but over the phone I had asked for a move AND tune and was told 180. Seemed fair. Due to some calcified rat pellets blocking some of the keys from working, he told me I could do it myself and then asked for the 180 dollars. I'm not a scientist, but I think I was ripped off. Customer service receives a 0 score and now that it's cleaned out, I'll offer the star(s) back when he makes a trip back to earn the rest of the money I gave him.

Our 6 y.o. daughter is learning to play the piano and Rick did a great job tuning our piano. He spent extended time evaluating and fixing all aspects of our piano. My daughter is so happy.

I have had several piano tuners/technicians service my Steinway and Baldwin grand pianos over the years, and Rick is the absolute best I've found in this area. I recommend him unreservedly.

Rick is a very easy going guy, easy to work with. Was informative and friendly. Seems to be very well known in the music community. I felt like he was affordable and very knowledgable. I will definitely use him again.

Rick is extremely knowledgable and professional. He safely moved and tuned our Yamaha grand (which is played 3 hours a day) and has tuned our other grand piano with great results. My son has perfect pitch and rarely is he happy with a piano tuner! We look forward to continued regular tuning and work on our grand pianos through Carter Piano Services.

We used Carter piano service to move a piano that we bought at the Salvation Army in Eugene. Being that it was an 1859 Steinway square grand we felt that it would be best to have a professional piano mover deliver it to our house instead of taking the chance of dropping it. When they arrived, they were almost two hours late(maybe I gave them the wrong address but doubt it), stating that we gave them the wrong address. They showed up in a tiny pickup truck and then proceeded to say that they thought it was an upright and that these pianos aren't worth anything which would contradict the vast amount of research that we did before buying it. My husband felt that they didn't want to do the job and that their reasoning of 20 years experience seemed off . When they loaded up the piano, it started to slide off the dolly that they had and my husband had to catch it from falling. Then when they unloaded it the same thing happened and, even though it was not damaged, it did end up with the one side on the concrete sidewalk. My husband ended up helping them unload it and had to supervise them to make sure no damage was done. The total bill for them to do all of this, including transport it from Eugene to Veneta was 250. We feel that we could have done it ourselves or hired a regular moving company for this outcome. The good news is that the piano is home and just fine. However, we will not be using their services again or be recommending them to my friends.

Rick tuned my 100 year old piano up to concert pitch after another tuner had told me it couldn't be done without breaking the strings. I was very satisfied with his work.
