Absolutely terrible experience. The staff and the owner of the place are very rude, completely lacking knowledge, literally lying to the customers about the equipment they sell, about the permit status and hiring subcontractors who have no idea what they need to do. Be aware that they sell many fireplaces that missing certain key parts completely and can not be used. You will learn about it only after paying a full price for the non functional fireplace and full installation in your house. All paid and will never work! if you complain , they will scream on you and curse you openly.

As a first time home buyer, we were very nervous about everything. This store especially John made EVERYTHING so simple to understand and made everything SO clear that i was not nervous about anything no more. John went above and beyond for us explaining every small process and every thing that needed to be done. I could not be more happy with the service nor got the service anywhere else besides from them. John personally went above and beyond for me on the day on the installation and coming to my house the day after the installation and provide some additional items that he did not have to give me and answered/explained more questions about the wood fire place insert after our first burn to make it more efficient. I went to other stores to see other products. But i left the stores concerned that the store managers and assistances could not answer 1/4 of the questions that John explained from A-Z within seconds. This is his passion. He accommodated everything to make sure the installation and the product was the right choice for our needs without pushing anything on us.

Terrible Customer Service. I went here to inquire about electric fireplaces. The guy tells me to go next door to the other show room. I wait 10 minutes expecting him to come in & explain options, prices, etc. He doesnt meet me in the showroom. I go back to the main entrance & ask if he can explain some options. He says I can check the website & get additional details. I was so frustrated with their lack of customer service that I just walked out.

I wish there was a no star review. I also wish I saw all these reviews prior to our purchase at Fireplace Place. The guys representing this business are a joke. They bicker with eachother and then tell the paying customer they are doing us a favor. After arguing with them the measurements of the chimney to the house are out of spec they continued arguing that they are right. What happens when the fire inspection is done, the entire installation is out of spec and does not pass. Go with Hearth and Home. This is one lesson you do not want to learn.

In 2004, we chose to purchase a fireplace from Joel Dolberg because his customer service was top notch. The installation went smoothly and it has worked beautifully for 15 years. Last month, we finally had a minor issue and contacted Joel who was able to order the part we needed and get us back up and running in a matter of days. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else for our fireplace needs. Thank you Joel and the Fireplace Place for keeping us warm and cozy every winter!
