Aside from just presenting an awesome view of the entire fair, the Skyride is a strategic part of any state fair visit. While it is, indeed a better deal to do a round trip, you can hope on the Skyride right as you enter the fair, and then work your way back through the fair. It's completely enclosed, so folks that don't like heights should be fine. Just note if you are by your self, they won't do singles on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, so be prepared to make a new friend. If you do decide to take the little ones with for a sight seeing trip, while you can't take the stroller on, there is ample parking for your stroller while you do a loop.

Of the two sky rides at the Minnesota State Fair, this is the only one that will accept credit cards. The north-south ride is cash only.
