I am a little disappointed that my case seems to be put on hold. It’s been almost a year and this case is still not resolved. I understand that things happen beyond our control, but I just can’t afford to go on paying my ex wife alimony and pay for an attorney. I’ve sold everything I could possibly sell to keep this going. I really feel bad that the opposing attorney past away and the ex’s so called health issues. But she’s had ample time to get a new attorney. Also her so called cancer is not life threatening, it’s a form of skin cancer that can be treated. She makes it sound like she’s on her death bed, but she’s not. Sorry to go on like this but it’s really frustrating. So this is where I stand at the moment. Headed into another year of having to pay alimony.

I changed attorneys recently, as mine had left Cordell to move to another practice, and was provided no guidance on severance of relationship or service or anything else. I had to inquire repeatedly to get a final invoice showing that my retainer fee had been returned. I am headed to trial in a week and Cordell has caused my case to be severely hampered because even as I type this, it’s members are busy trying to cover their own behinds and pass blame. Cordell is also giving my attorney, their former employee, the run-around while he rushes to get my case put back together. Until this I had nothing but praise for Cordell but it’s clear that changes are needed. This is the only negative report I’ve written about Cordell but it’s the most important and the most damning.

My lawyer did a decent job but Cordell & Cordell never consulted her about how I was supposed to pay and now my credits hurt waiting on the stock that my ex-wife gave me which way is date rate unknown liquid stock to be able to sell so I can pay these people my lawyer told me that once I sell the stock I can pay him back I tried once to sell the stock and didn't get any money 5000 bucks they weren't buying my stockings time now covid-19 and it hurt my credit so I reached out to him and told him what what my agreement was with my lawyer and they just laughed at me my lawyer should have known what type of stock I was getting in the end agreement and worked out something better so I can pay them I gave him 5,000 already but I couldn't sell the rest of my stock

This low quality law firm is in disarray. I am speaking from a recent experience and in particular about a court appearance in Northern Virginia on October 20, 2020. The attorney assigned to me was disorganized, not responsive, scattered, and billed me for redundancies. What is worse is that on my trial date she was unprepared, confused, and was taking advice and information on Virginia statutes from the opposing counsel. The performance was so bad, that for the first time ever, my opposition actually felt sorry for me. Imagine that - your opposition reaching out to you because she feels bad about the terrible representation you had. The outcome of this trial for pendente lite child support, and the preparation and advice I received in the run up was so bad that I will fire Cordell and Cordell of Falls Church today and I am looking into filing a law suit for malpractice. Please - do not hire this firm.
