First of all my review is not for the doctor, the front desk girls or towards to office. I am a current patient of Dr. Martinez due to my pregnancy him and his team are amazing, my problem is with the office manager handling the referrals, I am a office manager myself and I have to deal with a lot of paperwork but the referrals I gave them priority, as soon as I get one I try to send it the same day just in case is missing something it can be fixed before the patients visits. We all know referrals take a couple of days or weeks to be authorized depending on the insurance. Well this lady that every time I call the office, she refuse to give me her name but I know her voice, she has the nasties actitud ever and is really mean. Every time I need a referral chooses to leave everything for the last minute and when she sends in the paperwork is always missing something. This is my 3rd time with her having the same problem, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute made an appointment for me on Sept the 4th, that same day I called in the office and gave all the info including doctors name, phone and fax number, she stated that she will send everything the same day it turns out that’s she never send anything to the Eye institute, they called me the following week to notify me. I spend that whole week calling her and she was never in. Finally Friday the Eye Institute and myself got in touch with her, she received the fax requesting the referral from the other office and she send it back but she was missing information. Today Sept 14th at 2:02pm is the appointment in the Eye Institute and I’m still sitting here waiting on this lady to send the right information so I can see the doctor. She is doing a really bad job as an office manager and this is unacceptable for a pregnant person to be waiting on her for this long every time I have to see another doctor.

This place is great! Going to see a gynecologist Can be very uncomfortable even if there are no negative motives behind it but the team here made me feel comfortable from the moment I checked in. The doctor has a great nurse practitioner under his wing and they are both very knowledgable and gentle. They understand that you may feel shy, exposed and uncomfortable during the visit so they educate you through the process and make sure to provide you all the information you need to understand the procedures and your options of contraception. The location is very accessible and clean. I will certainly continue to be a patient here!
