I purchased a home that had a fiberglass pool that was installed with the previous owner. We’ve now owned the house for 3 years and it has developed 3 different cracks. With the first 2 cracks, the company that originally installed the pool patched the cracks. However, it was simply a patch job. They did not look to see what was actually causing the crack and to even get them to come look at the issue, it was like pulling teeth. It got to the point where I called every day until they came out. Once the pool developed the 3rd crack, the original installer was unresponsive. They were “out of the office” or would not return any phone calls. I tried calling every pool company in my area and the best option I was given was to rip out the pool and start over. To say I was in a nightmare is an understatement. Thank god I came across the API videos on YouTube. I sent a message to API thinking nothing would come of it, but I got an immediate response, and Mark was the first person to tell me that he could fix the problem. We agreed on a price, and he was in SC two weeks later fixing a problem that I was told couldn’t be fixed. Before I met Mark and his son, I was ready to fill the pool in and be done with it. I couldn’t be more pleased with the work and professionalism of Mark and his son, and I can’t wait to actually enjoy my pool. If you have a fiberglass pool issue, I couldn’t recommend API more. Thank you Mark and Mark Jr.! I can sleep better knowing I basically have a brand new pool that is now structurally sound.

Had our pool built in 2015. It's a typical in ground gunite pool. Within 4 months of completion pool started to leak. Couldn't see any obvious reasons why, and worked with builder to solve problem over 2 years. Still couldn't determine source of leak (even had 4 independent PVC plumbing leak test paid for by builder). Builder finally asked me if I would be willing to try a \fiberglass liner\ in the pool. At first the wife said heck no, and \we want what we paid for\. However I was tired of dealing with the entire situation. So, I said ok after he told me about the details. Fast forward 3 weeks later. Mark and his crew came down from Michigan to Texas. It took them nearly 1 full week to in-lay the fiberglass and coat it (I'm sure there are technical terms). Fast forward again, the pool functions great and in the past 3 years have not had 1 single issue. It gets even better. I hardly use any chemicals now, we no longer have \green algae\ issues, the bottom is smooth (no bikini snags for wife) and there so less maintenance. For anyone want to re-do the pebble liner, or fix a leak, etc., or simply wants a nice smooth feel, this is the way to go. Mark is awesome, always friendly and easy to work with. With the greatest appreciation, a very satisfied customer in Texas.
We had a hole in our pool step. Bought the kit from mark to fix them ourselves. Directions were good but my son and I were new to doing this. We had a few questions Along the way. the phone calls were answered promptly and in person. Very friendly people! Great company to work with!!!! We love how the steps turned out!!! I will definitely use them again.
Mark saved the day (and our pool)! After 16 years, the molded steps were brittle. Because they hadn’t been back filled properly, my husband’s foot broke through one, leaving a gaping hole and a quick depletion in water. We were fortunate to get on Mark’s schedule. He made the 1.5 hour one-way trip and worked in the scorching hot July sun for 4 days (one shortened by rain) to backfill, patch and resurface the steps. They look better than they did when they were first installed! Thank you so much!
Mark and Mark Jr did a wonderful job installing our pool. They both were very professional during the entire installation process. COVID 19 was a huge challenge they were able to overcome. The install started a few weeks late due to COVID 19 however they worked hard to get back on schedule. Mark was good at communicating timelines and any challenges they encountered during installation. I highly recommend API Custom Pools.
