This place is so amazing. You have to take time to stop and smell the roses so to speak. This sanctuary provides care to so many injured wildlife that are native to Florida. The volunteer staff is quite honestly made up of some of the most caring, giving people I have ever met. If you are able, may I ask that you donate a little extra to this wonderful foundation. The funds are put to good use taking care of our precious environment and animals.

South Florida's rich culture was easily absorbed after experiencing the old home on the property. It's decorated the same as it was nearly 100 years ago and you can walk through to experience it yourself. The guides inside the home are very friendly and tell you stories about the property and those who loved there. The scheduled trolley takes you aroud the property and they explain the plants, fruit trees, animals, landscape and indigenous who once resided on the land. There are birds and animals everywhere. It was a lovely experience. The bear on the property was obviously hot and ubcomfortable as the climate is not suitable for bears. Though it's been domesticated and can't be released into the wild, it would probably fair better in a cooler climate. The snack bar could do with additional options to bring in more revenue but apart from that, it's a lovely spot to visit for both locals and visitors
This experience was okay. The trolley with commentary was interesting when you could hear the guide. The animal exhibits were interesting but not well maintained. Not much to see in the aviary area. This place was also quite expensive.
Since I like to help out there when I can . These are some of the rarest plants that you will find anywhere .We are working on getting the Very elusive Ghost Orchid one of the Rarest in the world. Since they are propagated by a certain Moth that happens during the nighttime hours it dcx very difficult to perform this . Friends including a VERY good friend of mine are working on accomplishing this . Please stop by and enjoy many wonderful things INCLUDING the Birds of prey exhibit otters and tram tour.
