We went to Ruby Beach today. It was a gorgeous and sunny day. Between the gentle waves rolling in on an expansive sandy beach front, the brilliant green sea urchins and orange starfish clinging to rocks, and the jutting rock formations dramatically rising out from the ocean, it was an amazing beach and a truly inspired and inspiring landscape.

Fidhing for bottom fish can be very productive depending on the tide !

This beach goes on and on. As soon as you get away from the main entrance, you pretty much have the beach to yourself at this time of year. Walking all the way to the North when the tide is out, I found cool rock formations and beautiful tide pools. The compact sand was easy to walk on and there were dogs and kids playing in the water.

Very affordable in winter. The season doesn't matter much since ocean is always cold, but winter brings bigger, spectacular waves. Wake up to a sprawling ocean view and mystical looking rock stacks.
