A nice local shelter for you to go to and find some sweet animals. They do a good job of assessing each animal's personality and history to the best of their knowledge and ability. When I first came in I was a bit unsure because some of the staff were young as teenagers but they are obviously well trained and worked professionally. I love how they let you be alone in a room with a cat so you can get to know it and be sure you want to take it home when you adopt it. I found my pet almost instantly, a little tabby-white kitty named Amber. She is very playful and charming. I recommend HSYC if you need a pet and need a shelter close by.

I had the best experience adopting my sweet Taquito from here!! Everyone was incredibly helpful and obviously loved working with animals. I will definitely return for any future adoptions.

Wonderful experience. Very easy to contact and work with personnel regarding adopting a rescue dog. Sugarplum is very sweet and is adapting well here.

Highly recommend HSYC! You can tell the staff is knowledgeable and everyone was very kind and professional. The volunteers know the animals' quirks and personalities well, and will help to find a good match! My boyfriend and I fell in love with a super sweet dog there and underwent the adoption process that's fully explained on their website. It may seem like a long process compared to other shelters, but it's totally worth it for you and for the animals. We're first time dog owners, and the volunteers gave us plenty of great advice, and have followed up to see how our Avery is settling in! We had a great experience, thanks so much to all the staff!
