We stopped at this place the last 3 years while passing through on the way to South Padre. My review for the past 2 years was glowing and most complimentary. This time my friend and just looked at each other in surprise and said, \what's happened here\? We stay in a hotel right beside it and walk over and have looked forward to it for a year. Sadly something was amiss this year. The fried mushrooms were tough and rubbery, the fresh cut fries that were perfect in the past were soggy and tasted like the grease hadn't been changed in the frier for a while. The burger was bland and both our buns seemed stale and tough. Of the 3 things we had none were nearly on par with my previous 2 visits. Now I understand during this pandemic, the turnover of product is not as frequent and it may be harder to keep things fresh and ready while crowds are diminished. On the upside our waitress was very nice and the band in the back was good and the environment is unique and laid back. This is a great place and I hope they were just off their game tonight. It's far too cool of a place to fail and close. We'll give it one more try before we explore the many other options in this area..

The hamburger was good, but the server didn't bring the blue cheese that I asked for and the fries were cold! On the other hand, the music was excellent and the partially covered outside seating area was outstanding! The place could be improved with the addition of a dance floor & more experienced servers.
Best burgers!!!! Waiter was outstanding. Fine young man. I will be back. Thank you for being open today.
I have been on a burger circuit trying all of the local restaurants to see who has the best burger in this town. Freiheit was highly recommended but came up lacking. I got their bacon cheeseburger and was not impressed. The burger was small and swallowed by the bun. Additionally, it was dry to say the least. I am not sure if it was due to it being a leaner meat or being overcooked. I was not asked how I wanted it and it came out well done, which is not a deal breaker for me, but with how dry it was, it was hard to determine the cause. The bun tasted almost stale and did not compliment the burger at all. Additional issues is that we were placed right in front of an industrial refrigerator. It was loud and made for difficult conversation. That and the employees frequenting it to get things out made it awkward. When asked to move to another table, the person I spoke with seemed quite annoyed by my request. I recognized that maybe I was misunderstanding so I attempted to make some friendly conversation...that didn't go well. The lady was extremely short and did not seem like she was happy to be there. I only give this restaurant 3 stars because our waitress was the only redeeming quality. She was exceptionally friendly, courteous and prompt. She did an amazing job and made the whole situation a little better.
Our first time here, & Danielle made our visit great! Our food was fresh and prompt... we had appetizers- fried jalapeños, mozzarella sticks,queso & chips, onion rings... will definitely be returning to try out more entrees! Loved that it’s family friend as well.
