Things we love about Lake George: 1. It’s right off of I-69 and super easy to get to. 2. It’s a sports lake and is great for tubing, kneeboarding, and much more. 3. It has “no wake” hours of 6:30pm-10am and is very peaceful during those hours. 4. It doesn’t have a giant sandbar with a bunch of drunk people standing around peeing in the water. 5. The fishing is good. 6. The neighbors are great. 7. The special events and holiday celebrations around the lake are a lot of fun. We would love for the marina to sell gas so we can refill while on the lake, and it would be great to get a restaurant/bar back on the lake. However, it’s still a 5/5 lake without these things.

Great Lake for fishing, boating, and enjoying a hot summer day! Deeper water makes for great swimming and easy boating. The public boat launch is easy to use and set up really nice! Defiantly check out this lake!

Lake George is located in Fremont, Indiana and is a beautiful lake with various public accesses. Here is some local history - Lake George History 62“The first cottage on Lake George was built on the east side of the lake in 1855 by a group of businessmen from Fremont…while development was slow during the Civil War [the] railroad was completed in 1870…visitors could take the train all the way to Fremont and then take a horse and buggy to Lake George.” Excerpt from “Reflections on Lake George” published by the Lake George Cottagers Association.
