There was a mandate. The estabablishment did not follow protocol. It was like a mob. They should have prevented to many people in this gathering. I requested a private room. But it was not provided. Upon a request.. I hope there is a change upon this establishment. Yours truly my first time dining there...

All it takes is one little thing to ruin a perfectly excellent experience. French Market Bistro has great food, and excellent service. My gripe is with the restaurants owners and their processes. I had a modest bill, 36, and I was quite happy with both the meal and the service. However when my bill came back the tip section had been filled in by restaurant staff. The manager said that was because the tip was included in the service and that that was stated on the menu. Ok, fine. I don't remember seeing this on the menu. However, if the gratuity is included with the service then it should be a line item on the receipt. Not something handwritten in by the staff. This probably shouldn't upset me, but it does, and the manager's response that he doesn't see any problem with the process makes me fume about this several hours later. Just one little thing, and it ruined a perfectly excellent afternoon. I won't be returning to the French Market Bistro any time soon, nor will I be recommending it to any of my friends.

Had lunch at the French Market Bistro restaurant in Baton Rouge today which was opened in April 1996 and is known for its award winning chefs and quality of food. The restaurant is locally owned presenting the Creole Fare which is a type of cosmopolitan cuisine with European (specially French) plus African, and Native American influence. We can also say that Creole is a blend of different cultures spiced with seasonings, plus a touch of Italian, Spanish, German and Caribbean way of cooking. The restaurant provides for private dining as well as catering, however, people should call in advance for the required arrangements. The place is open Mon-Sat for lunch and dinner but Sundays it is closed. My food was delicious and service was attentive and kind. The Bistro has its own gift cards.
