A few months ago we had our 14 year old daughter admitted here, it was the absolute worst feeling in the world. As parents we were scared and lost and didn't know what we needed to do. Before haven my daughter was lost mentally she was distant and would shut everyone out no matter what we tried we just couldn't real her back in which wasn't a great feeling what so ever as we knew our daughter was not like this. We brought her into Haven and met with intake who were all extremely nice we laid out our concerns and what was going on and my daughter spoke to them as well, it was during this meeting where we learned that our daughter didn't want to be apart of this world anymore which was extremely devastating as a parent to hear that your baby girl was that lost. They spoke to us and assured us that they would help her. So we chose to let her stay. We spoke to her almost daily through either video calls or phone calls to check on her progress and see how she was doing. When we had medical questions the nurses always answered, when a new medication was going to be started the nurses always called and spoke to us before starting it and if my daughter mentioned something about medication possibly being started we were pro active and called to ask about it the communication was top notch. When my daughter had a few food concerns or suggestions I spoke with the manager and he was always willing to help out, make changes, and was accommodating to her needs. My daughter particularly liked the selections where she could choose chef salads, pizza, chicken tenders etc.... The pizza was her favorite. Since my daughter has discharged and been home for some months now she is a completely different person. We finally have her back and she has stayed back! She is so active now, she is talkative, she joins in on family events and movie times. I am forever grateful for haven giving my daughter back! I would totally recommend haven to anyone.

This is one of the worst behavioral hospitals in the area. I really don't know how people have had positive experiences with this crooked place, but , you know, everyone's different. This place made me start self harming and didn't even protect me when I was unsafe. I would be sitting at the end of the hall self-harming with a marker cap and they would just look at me with no care in the world. I thought this place would've changed after I came in January of 2020. Guess it didn't because when I talked to people who went to the hospital after me, they talked about how disrespectful the staff is and how much of a prison the place feels. THIS PLACE HAS NO OUTSIDE AREA. This might not seem like a big deal for some people but, when you are trapped inside a concrete building for about 2 weeks it gets bad for your mental health. They couldn't even give me proper accommodations for my dietary restrictions! The communication with the doctor is very bad. They don't answer the phone calls. DO NOT SEND YOU CHILD TO THIS PLACE! SEND THEM TO PERIMETER OF GARLAND INSTEAD!

My daughter got released today. I must say I was scared about taking her because of the reviews were horrible but I know she needed help. I must say the only thing I would say lacked was communication but wow I can see a difference in my daughter in just a week. She is clear minded and seems to have her self in control. She absolutely loved her social worker Raphael. They didnt try to keep my child like others claimed and said it was a great idea to get her discharged when she did. I would recommend this place to a friend in need.

terrible hospital Somebody sue them..... this hospital is unorganized and food is really bad some of the nurses are nice but a lot of them are not sure of the facts on medications and they forget peoples medications or don't give them on time. Some techs are nice but a lot have an attitude or don't want to be there making you feel uncomfortable to ask for help when that's what there for. the groups are not helpful they are childish and not enough therapy they will force you to go to groups held by the techs that are not mandatory you can't go outside no smoke breaks no zippers aloud on clothes when all the other hospitals allow zippers. If you have an objection or complaint you have to jump through hoops or AMA to get attention. It's literally a place that will antagonize your issues and amplify the desire to make you transfer elsewhere make you more insane or AMA out of there. Dr Nair is a good doctor there otherwise this place is absolutely terrible.
