I urge everyone making an appointment for a covid vaccination to avoid this hospital if possible. We made a covid vaccine appointment over a week ago through through the LA county site for our 70 year-old father, who has serious pre-existing conditions. We then received an email appointment confirmation from the Memorial Hospital of Gardena. However, when we showed up promptly this morning for our father's appointment, and after waiting in line for over an hour, the staff rudely told us my father's appointment had been cancelled and refused to let us inside. They were unwilling to provide any explanation or apology for either the cancelation or for failing to contact him to inform him of the cancelation in advance. We noticed that other elderly people waiting for their vaccine appointments were also being turned away without explanation at what seemed like random. When we politely asked if we could speak with someone at the hospital who could explain why the appointment was cancelled or help us further, a hospital worker abruptly called security to escort us off the premises. It was a humiliating and upsetting experience for our 70 year-old father, who was merely trying to get his vaccination. Later we contacted LA County about the incident and were told they've had numerous complaints about this hospital and urged to get our vaccination elsewhere.

You will be dying to leave. Should be shut down. The lowest performing, and most corrupt hospital in California, and possibly the United States. Note, 98% of the reviews are one star, but yet overall reviews are 2 stars! The reviews are either 1 or 5 stars, for the most part. The usual state if substantial reviews have been compensated reviews. Does anyone know the name of the organization that rates hospitals by treatment errors and malpractice cases each year. It is used in part to determine, best hospitals in the state of country? See the two pictures of me below, before and after a Memorial Hospital of Gardena ER visit. My photo 3 years ago, before ER, with the tie. My photo 2 years ago, after ER, as a quadlaplegic. I went to the ER with a heart rate of 120, a little fast. No other issues, NONE. I was given a new heart medication, to slow it down Two hours later, I had heart failure, lung failure, kidney failure, put on a ventilator, induced comma, paralyzed as a quadlaplegic, eventually feeding tubes, lost 99 lbs of muscle, paralyzed vocals. Unsanitized conditions lead to pneumonia, then sepsis, 107 degree fever for weeks. Lost ability to hold down food, or nutrition. Severe hearing loss, implanted cardio defibrillator, collapsed lungs, memory loss, confusion, spinal injuries... Can not care for myself, imprisoned indoors, cut off from life. On and on it goes. Incompetence, malpractice, corruption, coverups. Just because my doctor wanted to play it safe, and have me go-to the ER after my doctor's appointment with him that day. It needs to be shut down. Do not expose yourself the risks here. Go elsewhere. Go luck my friends. Michael Seaton

I fell on and hurt my knee and tried home care for a few days. When there was no improvement I made an appointment with my orthopedist--but the wait was three days. Unfortunately the pain and swelling continued to worsen until I could no longer walk without excruciating pain. Rather than suffering through a visit to an Emergency Room, I was advised to go to an Urgent Care that specializes in breaks and sprains (Webster Ortho NOW.) The staff was kind and efficient and the medical providers were excellent.
