My son recently spent a week at this facility. In the beginning, we were satisfied with the doctor's plan for his treatment, and some of the people were really nice to us on the phone. Although it was difficult to get a hold of people at times. But my son said he \lost his virginity\ at aurora. It is a coed facility, and he is 14, and he was the only boy at the time. We are very concerned. We reported it to the facility, and it was reported to their risk management team. However, no one has contacted us, or followed up. We would like to understand how this could have happened? Where is the supervision? Also, my son used a nicotine patch from another patient. How could something like this happen? We were very upset about that as well. Please call us and follow up. I'm sure it will be easy to determine which patient it was, he was the only boy, about a week before Christmas. He also learned negative behaviors while he was there, like self-harming and cutting. He never did that before, but now uses it as attention-seeking behavior.

I was there for 5 1/2 days I was so scared and anxious but some of the techs where so nice. My favorite techs where Cameron and Madison on the kids unit. They where so sweet. I cried so much That week. Cameron stayed with me when I was at the hospital he stayed with me for 1 hour and 30 mins and sat on the floor with me while a cried and he helped me. Him and Madison where so amazing. Ms Lois was amazing and walked me through the discharge process and it went so smooth. Some of the techs are mean and have attitudes. But other then that auroral was amazing.

My daughter is currently there, they tell me they have all these wonderful Therapy groups but its a lie!! This one particular nurse was very mean to myself as a mom. I can imagine How she was treating the children I did complain to the DON then later that night this particular nurse was mean to my daughter so I will open an DCS case up on them just like they are trying to open one on myself

Terrifying is an understatement. I was attacked by a very large male patient. They overdosed me on my Klonapin. I was prescribed. 25mg and they gave me 2.5mg. I overdosed and had to be put on Valium instead. When I said it was the wrong dose, they said if I didn't take it, I would be court ordered. I went in with PTSD and came out with CPTSD. The doctor I was assigned to was supposedly the director and was in California for the week. So his first day back I finally got to talk to him, he apologized for me going through this madness and I immediately went home. Even though I know it would be extremely beneficial for me to find a good doctor, I was harmed so completely by the situation that I have not seen a doctor since and will likely NEVER seek help again because the absent doctors and the rude, degrading and cruel staff. I have never been treated in such a deplorable manner in my entire life. I went because I needed help and that it not what I found. Please, if you love the person you are sending for help, DON'T. Please, they won't listen and they won't help. There are other hospitals that will help. Don't go to Aurora. Please. Even if you hate the person you are sending, DON'T. Shelter dogs are treated with more dignity.
