During a trip up the coast from San Fran to home in Snohomish County, I searched for the best fried oysters. Disappointed all the way. UNTIL- I swung into Goose Point and thought 'guess I'll have to make them myself'. First, for a couple shooters. Oh yeah, set me right for my past troubles in Oregon and California. The retail area as well as the general grounds were clean and well kept. Ordered a dozen to take home and grill. The guy pulled them off the sorting line right away- gave me 15- the only way I could have gotten them fresher was to dive in the bay and get them myself. Brought them home- 150 miles later, slapped them on the grill and they all popped! Oh yeah! I'm home! The quart of shucked were for dessert. My new go to place when anywhere near the coast.

Sampling oysters along the coast, we found the pressure treated preshucked oysters slightly soft in consistency and less flavorful than others. Not much of a metallic or briny finish.
