Lowest rate is for ground floor front rooms. Manager warned me that traffic noise would be higher there, but I slept fine. Barely heard folk in neighboring rooms. Inn has seen some great renovations: new shower surrounds, night light in bathroom, new furniture. Walk to one's choice of restaurants. Friendly manger was taking corona virus precautions and seemed on top of things. This inn was a step above the kind of place I normally stay, for only a few dollars more. I liked my overnight very much. Most complete website of any inn or motel I've seen.

15 minutes from Wildcat and a half hour from shopping. Great new restaurant/bar for homemade pizza within walking distance.The room was immaculate, so clean and updated. We had neighbors and heard very little. We always bring a portable sound machine though. One less star for too firm of a mattress. We would stay again for the great price.
I spent a night here and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and amenities for the price. The staff in the office who checked me in were very hospitable and professional. It was 0 Fahrenheit when I got there so my room was cool. In addition to the regular heat it also had a small feaux electric Woodstock which threw off a ton of heat. For dinner I got take out at a restaurant that was walking distance away. Liked everything about this spot and would definitely return
We stayed at the Top Notch Inn for 4 days starting on February 10, 2021 as part of a last minute ski trip and winter ascent of Mt Washington. This place looks like a typical run of the mill motel and, on top of that, we either got a really great deal or it is just plain inexpensive....so we were not really expecting much. But I will tell you that this place really surprised me. The only staff member we interacted with was the front desk guy, Derek. But he was super personable and accommodating. Down right pleasant to talk to. He not only set us up with our room and what to do if we needed anything but he also was willing to spend some time chatting with us and gave us really useful information about where to ski and what the current snow conditions were like and when he learned that we were having trouble getting a professional guide for our winter ascent of Mt Washington he referred us to International Mountain Climbing School and they were willing to accommodate us at the last minute. That was really important and we were lucky to get a guide at such short notice. Gee...I felt like we had a bit of a concierge in Derek. Definitely did not expect that at a motel. The other thing is that our room was surprisingly nice for a motel as inexpensive as this. Microwave, refrigerator, HVAC, TV, hairdryer.... everything worked perfectly and it was clean and super comfortable. The WiFi was strong. Lots of bandwidth. What a treat. Oh and this place had a phenomenal outdoor hot tub. Another treat not consistent with a run of the mill motel. I guess this place is really not such a run of the mill motel. Last but not least....I felt like the place was pretty well set up with COVID guidelines and I felt like they were going out of their way to keep everyone safe. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Mt Washington.
Great deal for a place to stay close to the mountains. Room was small but very clean and the bathroom was updated. Reasonable fee for dogs to come along. Quiet at night. You get a discount at the restaurant next door, and the food is pretty good. Overall a great budget stay.

The room was updated and very clean. I’d even go as far as to say it was pristine. For the price this inn is worth every penny. I’d gladly stay here again.
Stayed here for a skiing weekend and it was a total 10. Very clean and quiet rooms. It was updated, yet still had that New Hampshire quaintness. The perfect affordable inn.
