Great hike with the kids. A few too many mud puddles after the rain the day before but the kids and we did enjoy the hike. Take a map at the welcome center and bring musquito spray, snacks, water and a picnic. We also checked out the bird exhibits. Hope to kayak in the future!

A pleasant salt marsh walk. Trail is obvious and bridged fairly well. Overlooks built in by Eagle Scouts offer nice views and some good birding. I got lucky with weather and breeze when I went keeping insects down, but would definitely bug spray myself next time as trail gets close and under wood cover shortly after leaving start points. The Meadow Trail we wanted to try out first was closed by large downed tree ...Nature, who knew? But the lake trail was nice as well. All fairly short and nothing strenuous about the walk. Education and Visitors Center was very nice and we'll maintained. Staff friendly and informed. Good place for a kayak canoe jaunt besides a walk.

We are so lucky to have this treasure on the Eastern Shore. Thank you to every employee & volunteer who cares for the trails, the water and the wildlife. If you kayak or paddleboard, just get a membership.

Simply stunning place. The winter temperatures did not impede our wildlife observations. The staff there are top-drawer, friendly and informative. The drive to the center itself passes through wetlands, and it's hauntingly beautiful. We made several raptor sightings on that stretch. The facilities are clean and well kept. Paths were nicely groomed and maintained. This truly is a must-see, although you may want to visit anytime OTHER than Summer when the insects are in full swing. This is quite the hidden gem!
