I’ve done business with this company for many years(since 2015). The owner, Kevin, and past employees, Ryan and Jake, were always a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, I don’t think Ryan and Jake work there anymore. I’m not particularly a fan of Peter/Dr. Pickles but have always been more than happy to deal with Kevin...until this last visit a few months back. In years past, I had always received a 20% discount on all purchases except soil and co2. When Kevin rung me out the price seemed a little high but Kevin reassured me I had received my discount. When I got home I looked at my receipt and was happy to see the “20% off” next to each item but upon further inspection(and some quick math) I realized he only gave me 5% off. I’m not sure how long Kevin has been pulling this scam but I’d advise customers who have received discounts in the past to double check their receipts. I would have understood if he could no longer provide the discount but to be flat out lied to is another thing. I won’t be shopping here anymore and will be taking my money elsewhere from now on. Sad to see the best hydro store in the area become the worst.

Great store. Good prices and plenty of knowledge. The world needs more people like Dr. Pickles

Picked up the supplies I needed for a great price on a Sunday, significantly less expensive than ordering online. The cashier was helpful, and knowledgeable. I'll be going there for the supplies I need moving forward. Thanks!

Hands down the worst retail experience I’ve ever had. “Dr. Pickles” is the rudest employee I’ve ever encountered at any store EVER! Not only did he refuse to answer any of my questions seriously (he seemed more interested in complaining about his wife) but insisted on pushing clearance items on me that clearly have been in this store for literal years and are far past their expiration. It was actually insulting to be honest. I don’t know why the owner would condone this type of behavior. To top it all off, before I left, another customer had entered the store and started speaking to Dr. Pickles. They clearly knew each other because, despite the “Dr.” talking under his breath, he used several unsavory racial slurs that he thought I wouldn’t hear. It’s become clear the owner is just trying to push junk on their customers and don’t actually care about running a legitimate business and hiring quality employees. By far the worst hydroponics store in the area and if I could give this store 0/5 stars I would. Highly recommend Matt’s Hydro or RI Hydro over this store any day! Just on a side note, who calls themselves Dr. Pickles.
