Do your research on this place. After the negligent death of rebreather student Brian Bugge owner of Hawaiian Dive Company changed the name from Ocean Legends to avoid losing business. Darren Fox is not an IANTD instructor for any rebreather system. Tom Mount, Director of IANTD will verify anytime you want to call. The only reason he had a life in New Zealand was he married a local for residence, as soon as it was awarded he abandoned her and ran to the US to steal from Vets.

In all of my experiences at this shop, I have never experienced anything less than absolute professionalism. This shop is hands down, the best in Hawaii. They have the most knowledgeable instructors, and the most helpful staff, I encourage everyone to try them out.
I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, attention to detail and ability to help me resolve any issues I had. Two thumbs up!
This is the shop formerly known as OCEAN LEGENDS or OCEAN LEGENDS INTERNATIONAL DIVING ACADEMY. This is now the 3rd name change for the same “organization” in 3 years. AVOID, AVOID AVOID!! Interactions with this group and it’s business practices are sporadically acceptable at best. This particular dive “organization” is suspected of VA fraud of Veterans regarding incomplete training. \u003e7 Veterans have been screwed by this “organization”. OCEAN LEGENDS lost endorsement from certification agencies (IANTD for example), and more grievous situations that have involved the welfare of divers on their dives. It is a revolving door of Divemasters, OC instructors and Tech instructors. Dive professionals show up and quickly leave due to extremely poor business practices. There is talk of pending lawsuit(s) against OCEAN LEGENDS and Darren Fox in the Oahu dive community at the time of this posting (October 17th 2018). This name change to HAWAIIAN DIVE COMPANY is just another sham shady business practice in an attempt to protect assets in the event the lawsuit is executed and the owner is found culpable. Darren Fox (owner) is most certainly the owner of HAWAIIAN DIVE COMPANY, look at the website (I took a picture of the website stating the fact for when he inevitably changes it) it specifically says OWNER AND IANTD Instructor. Nice try Darren but everyone in the OAHU dive community is on to you, yet again.
