Heritage Guitars Reviews | Rating 5 out of 5 stars (8 reviews)

Heritage Guitars is located in Kalamazoo, United States on 225 Parsons St. Heritage Guitars is rated 5 out of 5 in the category al instrument manufacturer in United States. In the late 1800s, Orville Gibson arrived in Kalamazoo and began designing his own range of mandolins. Over time his company grew to become one of the world’s premier musical instrument manufacturers. Some of the world's finest guitars were built at 225 Parsons Street from 1917 to 1984. Some of the former senior employees wanted to continue the tradition of handcrafting beautiful, high quality electric guitars in Kalamazoo. In the spring of 1985, they bought space at the iconic factory, much of the original guitar-making equipment, and the rest is history. Jim Deurloo, Marv Lamb, and JP Moats (the founders of Heritage) had a combined total of 84 years of guitar-building experience when the company began. In time, Bill Paige and Mike Korpak joined as co-owners. Today, Jim, Marv, and Bill are still active in the daily business and their wealth of knowledge continues to live through our next generation of luthiers. We introduced our first Heritage guitar, the H-140 solid body single cutaway electric guitar, at the 1985 NAMM show in New Orleans. Over the years, we have built a small array of various instruments. We now focus exclusively on making the world’s greatest hollow, semi-hollow, and solid body electric guitars.

A tour here is absolutely recommended for anyone interested in guitars. We got to see every part of the production, starting from thickness-planing the wood, through manually shaping the neck, routing the body and all the way to lacquering and buffing. Even got to play a prototype anniversary model that was absolutely perfect!

During the renovations of the building the tours were postponed. I happened to be traveling east toward the Kalamazoo area, and sent an email asking if on the off chance I could pop by and just see the historic site. I got a response back from Jeremy, stating that he could likely set it up. I was set to go by on a Friday, but got hung up crossing Chicago on my trip east and arrived after hours. To my dismay, I had missed out. I felt so bad about being late after all Jeremy had done so much to set me up for a personal tour. I sent him an apology note. I got back an email from Jeremy with an appointment to go in on the Saturday The production manager, Derrick gave me and my wife an amazing off work hours, personal tour. This is the best customer service that I have ever experienced, anywhere. I'm currently a Hertige guitar owner, but this kind of service seals the deal for me. My next guitar will for certain be a Heritage. Not only for this kind of great customer service but for the hand built quality and dedication that goes into ever guitar. I recommend Hertige to any player looking for a great life long instrument. Unbeatable build, backed by superior service, what more could a musician ask for? Thank you Heritage for your great commitment to making such fine guitars.
