Went here while visiting FL. People were nice but food wasn’t. Ordered a patty to eat while waiting on food but it was dried out from sitting under heater too long. We received refund. Got to our room to eat food but it wasn’t good. Escovich was in separate container when it should’ve been poured on the king fish itself and lacked spice. Rice and peas lacked flavor and king fish wasn’t fresh. We didn’t feel like driving back to restaurant. Callaloo had a weird taste. Won’t be going back here. It looks better than it tastes. Maybe we went on a bad night because there was no music and only 2 people sitting watching tv.

I was thoroughly impressed by the island like ambiance. I am very supportive of black businesses and this is one I had to leave a review for. I have never been to Jamaica but when I stepped in this spot I felt like I left the city of Hallandale for a moment. Such a calm place I loved it. I’d like to believe I met the owner, my boyfriend and I asked if the food was spicy (hate when I go to Jamaican restaurants and they don’t make the food spicy!!) and [he] assured that it is. Let me tell you if my nose don’t run I’m not impressed but my nose is running! And I just kept complimenting his place. It’s like a one stop shop you can get snacks, many Jamaican food products, and even different Jamaican teas. I congratulated what I believe to be the owner because opening a restaurant is extremely difficult and to be so authentic I was proud for him. I will be back! And will tell everyone about it!
Taste could definitely be better but they have rlly cheap lunch specials @ 5 so can’t complain
