The last 5 years I would have given them 5 stars. They were very reliable with fast delivery service for my 2-100 lb tanks used with a gas fireplace. However, when I called for a refill this past November, it took 6 weeks and 3 phone calls to get my empty tank exchanged for a full one. This same service had taken a week to 10 days at most, previously. They tell me, they have bought a new company and taken on several hundred new residential customers and they don't have any drivers available for the smaller tank deliveries, they are fazing out the smaller tanks and I should get a bigger tank they can fill with a hose truck, but, they can't schedule that until the spring, etc I called a week ago requesting a refill as my 2nd tank ran out very shortly after the last delivery, due to the 6 week delay, hope I get my refill in less time this go round.

The Lexington location has been nothing short of a joke. We have been trying since October to have a tank put in. We ran copper pipes. When I first called, I made sure they knew that and I was told it was not a problem just to replace the copper coming out of the house with black iron. We did it within the week to prepare for the tank. Someone was supposed to call me back with a price. Fast forward a month, no phone call. My husband calls back, again, tells them we have copper pipe and asks when they’re coming. The person couldn’t even find our file asking for them to deliver a tank. We’re told it will be within the next week or so. A couple weeks go by, no tank, no phone call. My husband calls yet again, this time he speaks to a manager. This manager (AGAIN) no problem with the copper as long as black iron is coming out of the house to hook up to the tank, we apologize for the delay, we will be out within the week. A week and a half goes by. Again, no tank and no phone call. We call one more time and only this time are we told that can’t hook it up because it’s not full black iron. Four months and several phone calls later, they’ve decided they can’t do it. They were recommended to us by a friend who has the exact same hookup as we do, he had no issues with his copper line. With that, it’s safe to say we will not recommend Holston or be doing business with them. We will replace the copper with full black iron and work with Southern States (who can within the week in the rain and told us up front that they can’t hook up to the copper coming from the house). If you’re looking to waste your time, horrible customer service, and no phone call to relay information, you’ve found the right company.

I moved into a house and inherited a problem with the tank. Holston went above and beyond, sending out workers several times until the problem was corrected. All at no cost to me, except for the gas. EXTREMELY amazing customer service. Ask for Nick.
