Super friendly staff. More amenities than I'm used to when camping, including both indoor and outdoor showers (hot water was awesome after a 5 hour float!). Big grassy flat meadow the length of a football field to choose your tent site. Some people have complained about the train across the river. I loved it. It came through only once in the middle of the night (you ain't sleeping through it) but once the horn sounded, I was asleep before the end of the train had passed and love that sound. Some people have complained about a Confederate flag. It wasn't there any more and perhaps those people should not be looking to be offended as the staff there were as nice as could be. Rented a kayak from Horseshoe and they got us to the put-in spot and we could float and get out right at the campsite. Short walk into Scottsville, which is a really neat little town. There's the James River Brewery (good beer) and a couple of restaurants and a tavern. I'll be back next year for this yearly guys trip.

This is the perfect hidden gem ! Beautiful, spacious RV sites next to the James River. Plenty of room for both RVs and tents. The distance to Charlottesville was an easy drive and a better choice than the KOA. The owner was friendly and instantly felt like we were visiting family.

We requested a camp site since August the 1st. The lady stated we would have one more then likely the end of October. O have called and she still filled the spot that was supposed to have been ours and let someone else have it. Virginia hasnt been a pleasant place to visit and I wouldnt advice this spot .

This is paradise! The sites are very large and the tent sites are shaded by mature trees. Full Hookups for my rig allowed us all of the creature comforts. The showers we spotless and the grounds were clean and well maintained. The staff was fantastic! Always had smiles and a cheerful \Good Morning!\ They went out of their way to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect. I will return, for sure! Thanks for a great weekend Cheryl and Heather! You guys rock!

Great place to just get away with beautiful views of the James River and an easy walk to Scottsville.
