It's a great place for tennis. Plenty of courts. Please book in advance. One of the best tennis center in Houston with almost 20 courts. Facilities are great. Clean restrooms. Close to the trails. Ambience is really great.

Be aware that City Ordinance bans giving of any instruction at any city tennis park or facility, including Memorial Park Tennis Center. This includes free of charge lessons between blood-related individuals and married couples. Therefore, you cannot play with your child at the tennis center and give them any instruction or advice (otherwise you are in violation of city ordinance and are subject to being removed from the premises and possible further penalties. This Ordinance was enacted as an attempt to prevent "so called" tennis coaches from using public courts to provide lessons for a fee, but the ordinance clearly does not contemplate the overreach of this ordinance because it blanket bans free of charge "lessons" between family or husband/wife. The City of Houston is DISCRIMINATING against economically-disadvantaged families (importantly, historically and currently the African-American and Hispanic Communities) through this ordinance because only those with money who can afford lessons through permitted coaches can receive coaching. Serena and Venus Williams became who they are because of coaching received by their father. If they had grown up in Houston in 2020, they would not be who they are today.

The calisthenics area could use some work responding @ owener: well, I'm changing the review to a one star now. Why wouldn't a tennis area have a calisthenics area? You just shot yourself in the foot, incompetent's tennis area that doesn't have anything extra sad

Still feel like the pain parking goes against the trust that donated the park to the city. Great place though
