I would rate my own experience a 2, but that wouldn’t be necessarily fair to this place. The staff and the people presenting the shows are really great, and it’s obvious they are passionate about their jobs. However... if you go here expecting an actual planetarium show, you will be greatly disappointed. Off the bat, you can tell this place is sadly underfunded, but they are doing their best with what they have. There is no lights, videos, cool audios and visuals like you would expect from an actual planetarium, but instead is just google slide shows and someone explaining each slide and talking about the topic like a lecture. It’s nice to attend one of these and sit through a slide show with PowerPoint if you want to just listen and learn. It’s usually interesting I guess, but honestly it was very boring without the visuals, and lights spread across the dome like you would expect. :( kinda disappointed overall. I hope this place gets a lot more funding so they can put on actual planetarium SHOWS (and not PowerPoint lectures). But I’m giving this place 4 stars because I want this place to thrive, I hope people continue to support this place, and the people are energetic and happy to spread knowledge / talk about astronomy. ️

Absolutely out of this world experience, very well maintained and operated on a shoestring budget. This is a experience any astrologer must see, the presentation provided is top notch and the visual aids were beyond my expectations. At the end of our presentation the inside house lights are slowly lowered that reveal the stars in a large dome modeled after large fuel pod top. This is also a great place to bring a telescope and view the stars.

Thank you for a wonderful night out. Very educational. We were sad that the clouds insisted on hanging around last night but we will return. A big thank you to the members who volunteer their services to make these presentations possible. Our 8 year old grandson was so excited that he was able to participate in demonstrations. He recently bought his first telescope and hopefully will enjoy many nights of star gazing. He was happy to see the Pluto marker in the pathway. He insists that Pluto is still our 9th planet. I've been a member of the Von Braun Astronomical society off and on for 3 years. The thing that makes this place special is the history of it and how it came about. I won't give away any stories but suggest you go and find out first hand. Good group of people in the Astronomy club. Once a month they have a speaker a lot of times from NASA that discusses some of the projects they have worked over the years. Check this place out and learn about what is above our heads.

Kids loved the show, and the teachers outside with the telescopes were so kind and patient. Helped each child individually cant wait to go back!

Really a very open environment when everyone has their telescopes out and pointed at something interesting. It'd be nice if it had some sort of standing attraction, but for now I'll just make sure to go on Saturdays

The VBA Society puts on star shows for a very meager price. They have a star machine that projects the constellations, stars, comets, etc. Great family activity often with telescopes set up for after show star gazing.
