Free on Thursdays. Staff knowledgeable and very friendly! Restrooms available. Eclectic exhibits. Currently being revamped but still worth a visit. The biggest hit was, of course, the working train sets (25 cents makes them go). Both 5yo and 2yo enjoyed it. Worth a stop if you have time.

Great place to Learn the history of the Peninsula. Who KNEW Ocean Park was the moral compass for the debauchery of Oysterville and its 5 saloons? \u200d️. Two model train tracks that the kiddos can drop a quarter in and watch run, one of which is a model of the actual old RR route. Love that they have free Thursdays thanks to the Port of Ilwaco!

Definitely a great museum with a lot of displays. It clearly explains the history of the area and was a great place to bring the kids. The train car and depot were especially fun.

Leave your children at home, they are not welcome here. We went on a Free Thursday. Enjoyed the displays. But not a kid friendly staff. We had 5 adults and 8 children ranging from 12 to 2. In all the rooms where the staff was not the children enjoyed reading and looking at the displays. For the most part kept their hands in their pockets. As we went upstairs or near gift shop the staff made us all feel like we were doing something wrong. 10yr old boy went to use the restroom he stopped by the gift shop and was told to go back to his group . The same thing happened with a 6 yr old that was standing on the step right behind her gradfather. We left the museum after that. I asked the staff what we did wrong they said they just could not have the liability of children being without their parents. Glad it was Free but I don't recommend and we won't be back.

My 4 year old grandson loves trains! We spent 3 hours and pretty much had the museum to ourselves. Bring quarters to operate the model trains!
