Trucks are better positioned for backing in to loading dock if they take the Alice Avenue exit instead of the the Dryden Avenue (first) exit coming into town. Very nice administrative staff. Shipping office is in building across Main Street from the loading dock. As you enter the building, you will find a closed door with a sign instructing drivers to go upstairs. This is actually the staircase location. Shipping clerk is pleasant and efficient; having you sign documents prior to leaving so you don't have to return. Trucks are loaded one at a time, but are done amazingly fast. They load on a first- come, first-serve basis, so arrival time makes a difference. There were at least 10 trucks ahead of me when i arrived and I had a full load to get. I was back on the road within an hour or so. The biggest negative is the tight quarters drivers have to negotiate; especially once the snow hits. Nevertheless, everyone seems to work together to allow for smooth progress. Also, the owner was there the day I went, and he tended to be a bit crabby and was barking at drivers to move their trucks when they parked somewhere he didn't approve. His methods were poor, but we all appreciated the results. I would grab a load there every day if opportunity permitted. Keep in mind that this is a high elevation location so snow and ice are common during the winter months. Also, it should be noted that a State Weigh Station is located here on the North side of town and just prior to the Hwy 97 Junction if your are heading North. It is seldom open, but is open on occasion; especially during harvest months.
