To say this place is all about the real estate would be to severely reduce it. Yes, the office is nice, well furnished, cleverly spaced and the fresh scent of a newly built office space does augur well and gives a little added incentive to wanting to linger in the office a tad longer. But for me, it's really about the people. The helpfulness to connect with other VCs and preeminent investors, the elites of the elites and the makers of rain. And that's not even the catch, the secret is you get 2 for the price of one. The best of The WEST and The creme de la creme of the EAST Thine eyes have seen the famous cast it's shadows along these hallowed grounds. Rock stars of the tech world often gracing the hallways, answering questions and asking earnestly about your tech. Within a 'plug in' here, I've had the opportunity to enter into a world where I would never have imagined; the world of china. The amazing access to some of the largest companies in the east, the technologies, the distribution channels, the resources, the gateway to the soon to be the single largest economy in the world. Possibilities abound. Dreams become bigger. And the world just became that much smaller. The team here is deceptively unassuming. But the deception is delightfully poised to open a conduit that was for me quite unexpected and have now quite literally changed my views of how I view technology. Their close alumnus relation with China's finest university Qing Hua have given me an unequivocal access to the ruling class of Beijing. To the leaders of innovations. To the inventors of modern tech. Of past and present, and almost unquestionably, tomorrow. No but seriously, it's really about the desk, the drudgery table and chair....... until it's not.
Great people, great ecosystem and great startups. A lot of things are happening in there. Congrats to all the team!
As a place for new and budding businesses, I loved the atmosphere of creativity. I wanted to stay longer and learn about more of the startups growing in this place.
