I would like to respond to the wedding photographer who “could not do their job” because they were not allowed in the sanctuary during the wedding ceremony. Weddings are not events purely for the ‘show’. This is a sacrament that Catholics take seriously. In the past when photographers were allowed in during the ceremony, they have been know to stand on the side altars, wander all around the main altar during Mass, or even asked to have the altar removed to allow more room ... all of which is totally disrespectful and does not allow the priest to “do his job.” The best pictures are taken prior to the wedding, and believe it or not, some nice photos can be taken ‘through the glass’ on the vestibule doors. I know this for a fact ... because of my own sons wedding. The Cathedral is a very beautiful and welcoming church.
