I was referred to dr. Sumners by my previous OBGYN due to my medical history. At first I was really happy with the level of care I was receiving. After my first appointment my nurse said I could see Dr. Sumner as my primary care for my pregnancy. After having my records transferred at my next appointment I was told by the ultrasound tech/nurse that they no longer needed to see me. I asked about what happened between appointments and why they couldn't see me. After speaking to the doctor they both said that they would be continuing my care. 2 weeks later I started having some issues and the nurse rebecca told me she called my local hospital and arranged for a few tests to be ran that day and it was urgent that I rearrange my work schedule to go and as soon as they have the results they would call me. The hospital said the lab work would be sent to my doctor in 1-2 hours. After not hearing back that day I called twice the following day and after my call being dropped 3 times in the process of transferring me, rebecca informed me she didn't know why she didnt have my results and would contact the hospital. The next day the same thing happened between dropped calls and no test results. When I called the hospital I learned there had been no contact and that it's as simple as faxing over an authorization. I also went to the hospital and was able to get my results on my own. After 3 days of no answers and still having these symptoms, I called and scheduled a new appointment with a different doctor. When I called to have my records faxed to the new doctor I found out that the office apparently thought I was seeing my previous OBGYN and that they weren't in charge of my primary care. Between the poor communication and in ability to get and keep up on my lab work I would be hard pressed to feel comfortable recommending this office to anyone expecting a child.

I have (had) cervical incompetence and lost my first child at 21w6d gestation. I found Dr Sumners online and he placed an abdominal cerclage while I was 12 weeks pregnant with my second child. I was able to successfully bring home that baby AND her little brother 2.5 years later. I am forever indebted to Dr Sumners and his team at St. Vincent.

He saved my life and my babies life 11 years ago. I was 22 at the time and had developed preeclampsia. At 27 1/2 weeks, Dr. Sumners did an emergency c-section and saved my life and my daughters. He took wonderful care of me before and after my surgery. I will be eternally grateful! My daughter is now 11 1/2 years old, and is in perfect health. I'm doing pretty great as well.

A wonderful, caring physician who did my amniocentesis 22 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter due to a complicated pregnancy 3 1/2 years before with my son. Dr. Sumners was professional and caring and I couldn't have asked for a better physician to handle the care I needed during my pregnancy, I'll forever be grateful.
