My husband and I ate here when we were staying on Seabrook Island. We didn’t have any entrees but tried a slew of appetizers. If we were to return to Hege’s, we would definitely get the She Crab soup, escargot and scallops. The crab cake was solid and the pate was pretty good but nowhere near the best we’ve had. We would pass on the mussels.. they weren’t any better than what we can get at a chain like Carrabba’s in a landlocked state. We also had the oysters on the half shell special which we wouldn’t get again.. the mignonette is served on the oyster as opposed to on the side. Again, get the soup and escargot. The escargot is served in the shell which was unique to us. Also, the peanut butter pie was fantastic and held up great when we took it to-go. Plan for this to be a longer dining experience, closer to 1.5 or 2 hours.

My husband and I just had the best meal of our lives at Hege's. Everything was absolute perfection, from the ambience to the service to the food. We couldn't have had a better experience. Whether you're locals like us or visiting from afar - check this place out. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent food and atmosphere. My wife and I had our 20th anniversary dinner here and it was awesome. The staff was super friendly. The peanut butter pie is their signature dessert and one bite will confirm why... I'm not even that much of a peanut butter fan.
My wife and I came to Kiawah for our honeymoon and had dinner at Heges one of the nights. All of the staff at heges, including the hostess, were wearing masks and gloves and the restaurant itself was very clean. We were seated and served by Tim. Tim was fantastic! He was fun but professional at the same time. We started off with the stuffed shrimp appetizer which was perfect. My wife had the seafood pasta which blew us away. We expected it to be good, but the seafood was fresh and a hearty amount was served. I had the delmonico steak which was cooked perfectly. We finished with the creme brulee and peanut butter pie which were each spectacular. We had a fantastic meal that was very memorable. Highly recommended. We will be back!
