Terrific experience! We rode the tram up (a bit pricey at 35 per adult; I'll bet it's cheaper when there aren't any cruise ships in town). The views from the top are spectacular! There's actually quite a bit to see and do at the top, including several scenic hiking trails. We then walked the Mt. Roberts Trail to the bottom. It took us about 75 minutes at a nominal hiking speed -- not fast, not slow -- to reach the Basin Road Trailhead. From that point, it was a pretty short walk into town. The trail to the base is not a technical hike, but it's also not a smooth, level walking trail, either. The views along the trail are pretty good -- not as breathtaking as the views from the tram or from the summit, but you also don't get the same sense of accomplishment that you get from walking the trail down. And sure, one would have a greater sense of accomplishment from hiking the trail UP -- but, at my age, obeying gravity is an important survival concept. Enjoy....!
Nice ride to the to of the mountain. Great views looking over the harbor and surrounding area. A few walking trails at the top of the mountain once you get off the tram. Overall it's a good attraction however it is a little pricey at 35 per adult.
This tramway was an ultimate experience with spectacular view of mountains and beaches. As we head up or head down in tram we can hear a audio which tells us all about the view around. Heading up and then trek towards the tip of the hill in between enjoying the snow around is really fun. As you walk on snow need to be very carreful...and at some points it's muddy...it was clear day..sun is shining up in the sky with chill air. Definitely it is awesome experience.
Very cool experience. It was interesting watching the cruise ships arrive into the port from the tram. There was a live bald eagle while I was there, and it even started snowing a little, even though it was drizzling down below. There was trail to walk on as well and a restaurant to grab a little something (nothing fancy though). Please do go for the restaurant, go for the views and the awesome trail.
Great views and scenery at the top. Lots of lookout points along the trails.
Great views! The trails are in amazing condition. This is the second time we have gone up and I was just as impressed this as I was the first time. For 35 bucks a person you can go wrong.
Worth the trip for the view and film, but did feel a bit too "gift shop" at top, considering price of ride up. Had a interesting short film (20m) (included) on the Tligit presented in a comfortable small theater with a great introduction given by a staff member. Also: restaurant/bar, nature center and hiking trails at top. Didn't fully explore trails as weather was shifting and a group member was recovering from a sprain on crutches.
