First time trying African food and I got the Okra and Peanut butter soup which was so good. The only issue was the wait time. I called my order in an hour ahead of time. When I arrived it was pack. It was another hour and half before I gotten my food. So I thought since it was a Saturday night that was understandable. So I wanted to give them another chance because I really enjoyed the food. So I came back on a Sunday called my order in at 1:30pm the guy said it was going to be a 45 minute wait. I waited 30 minutes and still nothing when ask Whats the wait. They say it's coming out. Unfortunately I gave them another shot but I will not be coming back. The food is really good but I will advise calling ur order in ahead of time and go pick it up 3 hours later just saying.

I did a carry out lunch for restaurant week. 8 wings and jollof rice with chicken that came with a salad and plantains. It was so good! They have been on my list to go try and I will definitely be coming back. They were also very nice!
The food is pretty good. However the service is CRAZY slow. I understand cooking takes time and whatnot but the servers literally stand around talking and rarely come to the table. Took about 20 minutes for a table and then 30-40 just to get drinks!! The cook even came out to help. They don’t clean the tables until the last second. Everyone is friendly and the food is good, I just wish they operated more efficiently. Took 3 hours for the meal. Definitely don’t make any plans after if you’re coming here, and order way ahead if you can. If you don’t mind the wait it’s kind of fun.
Horrible service. Ordered online, never got confirmation, and so finally called to check order status. Was told they were busy and would call when the order was ready. They never called back. Even the online order service ChowNow called me because they weren't able to reach them either. Well over an hour after placing the order I finally called back to the restaurant and cancelled. Won't be trying them again
My husband and I make it a point to visit Fannie's every time we are in Kansas City. We love the food and everyone there is always so nice and remembers us when we visit! You can't go wrong with the Egusi and pounded yam. We obviously couldn't wait long enough to take a picture of the food before we ate it.
