Have lived here thirteen years. Served a number of them on the association board, an opportunity open to every stockholder. Convenient to everywhere in the KC metro thanks to its proximity to I-635. Affordable and attractive, modestly appointed homes. Am very happy here.

I am at peace. I am in a diverse and quiet community. A lot of the people are so friendly. A lot just wave which is also okay.

This is by far the best kept secret in the KC area, and one I'm happy I found out about. The units have such personality, and you're allowed to repaint and remodel inside as you wish, but must have approval for major renovations. You can add patios, screened-in porches, etc., with the approval of the association. Qualifying is easy and approval is fast. The units are so cheap, you won't believe it. The Homes is comprised of duplexes and four-plexes. The neighborhood is hilly with lots of trees, quiet and relaxing. I recommend you look at a few units up for sale and take a look around the neighborhood. I initially was in the market for a small studio apartment, something I could afford, when I learned about The Homes. I have an adorable one-bedroom unit with hardwood floors, my own porch, and a nice little yard surrounded by trees. My monthly bills, including the maintenance fee, are significantly less than what I'd pay for a studio apartment. I just moved in and know I've made the right decision. I urge anyone looking for a new apartment, even a home, to check out The Homes first. They allow pets, too. There are two- and three-bedroom units as well.
