Tried to report elder abuse after speaking with 4-5 different people. I was told someone would call me back and follow up to check on my friend who was being exploited/abused. Never heard anything. This is a topic that should never be neglected or passed off. Do not off this service if you cannot follow through. The most frustrating/hurtful part is that I was repeatedly assured someone would check on him and I would get a call back. If this was not the place to call they should of let me known. In hindsight I should’ve called the police, but being that they list this as their specialty I decided this might be handled better by them since it’s already a delicate situation. Over a month after I initially reached out, I found out today my friend has passed away and we will never know what was happening. Really need to do better. Either train better people or don’t offer services that can’t be fulfilled, this experience really made a bad situation worse than it should’ve been. Elder abuse needs to be taken seriously. What a shame this is how it got handled.

They are anti sympathetic people who are not willing to help anyone. I am speaking form personal experience. My friend also wanted to make his life better but there staff and there board of professionals. for the lake of a better term. Did not want to let him to get his life together. Kept him on pills and threw him in the mental institution. He an adult need I remind you and his own guardian. If you are desperate do so at your own risk.

Did not like my therapist Natalie. She had a judgmental vibe from the start that I tried to overlook, but after a few months I had enough. I tried to request group therapy and I was told that I’d be receiving a call that day from Cortney, but I never received a call. They used to have good services long ago, but I’m unhappy with the level of service I’ve received recently. Unprofessional.

Worked with two people and the first person was helpful but then referred me to a second one who only made things worse. I specifically requested help with networking/communication with employers in regards to seeking employment as someone with autism. It was clear that they did not understand/regard that disability as a difficulty. Their services consisted of random google results for jobs and inconsistent advice, such as first telling me that I should list individual work as experience on resume and then another person telling me that the individual work was not eal employment.\ They also made suggestions of working retail or at an Amazon warehouse rather than jobs related to my college major/areas of expertise as a means to expedite my case completion and move on. In addition, they never replied to any e-mail questions/inquiries I had, including providing them with a psychological exam I took to help them better understand my disability, while at the same time they would be upset about unprofessionalism if I didn't answer an e-mail immediately.

Very unprofessional. A SASS worker should be working with parents to help guide them through a difficult process but yet are able to brush off a crisis because they’re done for the day with no connection to an on call supervisor DURING WORK HOURS. SASS worker said that the student was “accepted” at the hospital we did not want to go to and refused to call the hospital we preferred because of the program they offer. Even though no parental consent was given to send the patient to the “accepting” hospital, due it being after hours we’re forced to go otherwise DCFS will be called for medical neglect. Word for word this is what we were told by Adriana, “I completed this assessment hours ago and I wasn’t given any of this information so it’s out of my hands because my work day is pretty much done”. Then when I called KYC to get in touch with someone so that we can at least get someone to call our preferred hospital, the receptionist could not help and blatantly scoffed when I called him out for transferring me to voicemail which I requested not to do because of time sensitive material. I’ve been working in the mental health field for 7 years and cannot believe an establishment that is supposed to support clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives can be inconsiderate and not see how their decisions severely impact what’s best for their clients.
