Only been to a few meetings and job shadows there but it's very nice and everyone is friendly, especially the volunteers at the front desk

Very unpleasant experience with a kirkland building inspector. I was making repairs to my roof with a help of a friend. We did not know we needed a permit to replace some shingles. Suddenly this angry man appears on top of the roof and starts screaming in anger. No hello, no can I enter your property. We really thought we were being attacked. He was running around screaming about nail sizes. He was red in the face and very aggressive. 10 minutes into it he throws a card at me says Go get a permit NOW NOW. He also altered the project claiming it was against code. When he came back to check off on the permit, he admitted that he had no idea about roofing. I told him but you altered our project. He laughed and said I'm not a roofer why did you listen to me!!
Friendly and helpful to a fault. The City Hall is open and always inviting. Nice building but not ostentatious. They even added a parking lot to the south.
