strenuous hike. Park in the train station for 20 and hike over the bridge and up. We took the 4.5 mile walk to the overlook (go to the right both times at crosswalk to see the naval battery and to the overlook). It is all up hike (obvi) and it took a toll on our bodies but totally worth it. The view from up top are amazing. Especially since it is the only aerial view you can get since you can't fly drones within Harpers Ferry as it is a national historic park. Come here EARLY. As we headed down there was a crazy amount of people hiking up that we passed. We parked at the train station at around 8AM.

Breathtaking views and small town charm. Truly amazing location to fly a drone! Close proximity to DC makes it easy for a day trip!
Amazingly beautiful! The hike for me was a little hard and I wanted to cry because I no longer enjoyed it lol BUT all 3 kids, not so for mom and fit dad did it! The views from the overlook were breath taking!
Outstanding view from the overlook. Take your pictures and share the view with others.
Amazing place to hike great for young an old got a little scetch toward the overlook so if you have any torbles walking or climbing this might not be for you
