About 2.5 km from the visitor center but very well marked hike. Pretty cool. Would definitely give this place 5 stars

Beautiful, serene and early spring day spent at the beach. It was free of trash. We took chairs and beach towels and just sat and watched the waves, people and their pets. I loved the area. The weather was a little nippy but a tan was able to be obtained. I will def go back here again in the future. There is a picnic area to enjoy as well.

Great place to enjoy being outside with family. It’s a great place to make lots of memories. I love taking beautiful photos of my children here. The sunset looks absolutely stunning. There are many different signs that give history of Fort Fisher. Many neat places to check out.

My husband proposed the first time we visited Kure Beach/Fort Fischer and we come back every year! In comparison to Daytona, Myrtle, and Topsail Beaches, we absolutely prefer this one. Going out to the Fort Fischer Rec area is worth the extra 5 min drive. There is a large parking lot, restrooms, changing area, picnic tables, grills and hoses to rinse the sand off before you leave. The beach itself is always clean and peaceful. The staff patrols and keeps and eye out for everyone's safety. There aren't vehicles to worry about driving past you on the beach (aside from the staff which definitely aren't a nuisance). We normally stay in Wilmington or Leland and make the short drive out. I'd definitely recommend this beach for families, couples, pet lovers, really anyone!

Wonderful park. We enjoyed the cape fear kite festival while here.

Such a beautiful place. Who knew this even existed?! There was basically no one on the beach, and the water was so much more blue than it is up at Kure, Carolina, or Wrightsville. Had a blast spending a few days up here and will look forward to returning this fall to camp on the beach!!
