My daughter was lucky to go to this school for her Junior and Senior years. Everyone at the school was wonderful, more like a family than anything. Always working for the best interest of the student. Could not have asked for a better place for her. She has turned into a wonderful young woman with the guidance she received at North Cedar Academy.

I do hope for this school to grow, but I've never seen something fall apart so quickly. The 2018-2019 school year started out strong but quickly went downhill from there. Students have been unhappy with the school throughout the whole school year, but due to extreme raises in tuition students have been enraged and the administration couldn't care less. North Cedar Academy insists that their tuition is much cheaper than any other boarding school and most colleges, but this is far from true as some student's tuition rose to around 60,000. This is about the same price or even more than colleges throughout the US. The education, board, and room added together is worth nowhere near to what the school wants some students to pay. Unless you're in the UW-Program, the classes offered at NCA are much like any other high school in the area with the only exceptions being ESL classes or Chinese related classes. The dorms are still falling apart, none of the couches from last year were replaced and they continue to fall apart each day, some kids even hurting themselves because there's a piece of wood sticking out from the back of one of the couches. NCA is far from what it advertised to students. People attending NCA were attracted to the school because most of them were promised something that doesn't exist. Some examples being a golf team, a robotics club, cheap tuition, even outrageous things like an equestrian center. Along with this, the school website advertises as if they own things such as a gym or a pool. In reality, these places belong to surrounding schools like Ladysmith High or OLS (a nearby elementary school), not only that but the school has limited access to these places. There are some really amazing things about NCA and if these issues were addressed, it can live up to its full potential.

I have been working at North Cedar Academy (NCA) from the beginning of the school to present. I have seen all the changes and growth over the years. I think NCA is a very welcoming and appreciative institution. I have learned so much from my colleagues and students from all over the world. Every working environment has issues, but NCA has come a long way and will continue to grow and develop its commitment to foster international citizens and scholars.

My child currently attends this school, and I am so glad he chose this school. At first, I was worried about the distance and him being so far away from me, but the staff at North Cedar Academy treats him like family, and keeps me inform. I especially like the education that he is receiving. His courses are like the ones he will encounter in college, so I am extremely pleased; he is 100% college ready. The English classes are intense, and your child will write on a college level, by the end of the first class he or she takes. All the classes are rigorous, and the teachers help to support the children outside of the classroom to ensure comprehension and success. Besides the rigorous classes, they make sure the students are learning arts and sports. My child now plays the piano and the guitar. Totally awesome!! who knew that he had musical talents? Certainly, not me. I am getting to know a new child, since he is totally different from when he first started. At the end of 9th grade he was more mature, and self-reliant. I am still trying to get used to the self-reliant part. I totally missed Mommying him, but I am also glad he does not need me anymore. Bonny, who handles student affairs has become family, and also a friend. She keeps me informed and she goes beyond her duties. This woman is a Saint. Her husband, Don Smith, is also great and will do what it takes to help the children succeed and go beyond themselves. This goes for all of the staff as well. The school is very strict and the girls and boys are not allowed to mingle in each other dorms. Everyone goes to dinner, and school events at the same time. No one is allowed to stay behind for safety reasons. I would most definitely recommend this school for any child who wants to succeed.
