The reason there are so few animals to be adopted now is because they are charging 75.00 to turn in animals. They are putting animals in danger by charging a fee. I called to bring in my cat thinking I was doing the responsible thing because I had adopted him from there and can't care for him. I wanted to give him the best chance I could to get a home. I was told about the fee and when I explained I couldn't afford it and I have heart problems and having a hard time caring for him I was told I was an irresponsible pet owner. I told the girl I would handle it and hung up after saying a few choice words. The next day I was visited by a guy who said the girl sent him to check on the cat saying they thought I was going to \harm\ the cat. He saw the cat was VERY well cared for and told me to try other places. This place doesn't care about the animals....they want the money. I'm not an irresponsible pet owner...just the opposite...I thought I was making the right choice for my cat. They are hurting countless animals who will now be dumped instead of turned in. I will try to find a home for my cat ( he is sweet and beautiful) because he deserves more than I can give him due to my health. I love this cat and only wanted help placing him in a good home.

I dealt with numerous staff and even a couple of volunteers during the course of three visits over two weeks. All of them were caring, compassionate and truly seemed into their work. I unfortunately had to return a dog I really wanted to help by adopting that just wasn't a good fit in my home. After hearing over the course 9f the last couple years I've been in Pinellas nothing but bad things about this place; I was able to witness first-hand that wasn't the case in my experience. Keep the good work up folks!

We adopted our fur baby from here 2 months ago and couldn’t be happier with our decision. Our dog is a beautiful 5 year old who is full of the energy! She’s an absolute sweetheart and we are so thankful to have been able to adopt her and make her a part of our family. She was already microchipped, up to date with shots, and spayed when we adopted her. She gets along very well with our kids and other dogs. We love her and the staff at Pinellas county animal services.

I got my dog there a few months ago. The vet there did a great job with his neuter and when I got him he was very clean, nails trimmed etc. The process was quick and easy. All the staff were super nice and you can tell they really love the animals.

The people who work here the most helpful, informed and compassionate. They took such good care of my Shandy She had jumped from a moving vehicle last Wednesday, she must have been so traumatized by the event. However, when I went to retrieve my my baby, you would have never know it by looking at her. Shanddogie was in the most excellent condition displaying no signs of trauma. She was smiling, wagging her tail and anxiously waiting to let me take her home. We had the most joyous reunion My many thanks to the loving staff who took such extraordinary care of my precious Shandy Thanks to you all
