I think how The Roost has handled service during the pandemic represents their identity as a business. They put the well being of their customers and their staff first, while also continuing to provide consistent and high quality service and food. My husband and I order from here regularly to take an order to go, and we also have dined in once and felt very safe. If you want outstanding food served by just as outstanding of people, look no further than The Roost!

Absolutely fabulous dining experience! We were in Lawrence for some business and decided to eat at a local restaurant. My wife read some reviews about The Roost, and we decided to give it a try. The environment was eclectic, but not pretentious. The food was prepared at an extremely elevated level. The ordinary became extraordinary. We ordered a lot of different things so that we could try as much as we could and take the rest home for leftovers. We were happy we made that decision. Everything was hot, and tasted fresh, made-to-order. Hats off to the roost.

My favorite little breakfast place in Lawrence! I've been going to the Roost for years, and since moving out of Kansas, I always make a point to stop in when I'm in town. The food and the drinks are ALWAYS wonderful, no matter what I get. I was so pleased with the service during the pandemic. My food was brought to me quickly and I'm so happy to see them thriving while keeping their dining room closed for the safety of customers and staff. Keep doing your thing, Roost!

Why not open dining with social distance like most every other place? It's like 1 person in a car of 4 wearing a seat belt. 1st you didn't get my order right while sitting at your outside only dining. The Biscuit n gravy was very disappointing. If you do try this place with outside dining only enjoy flies on your food and be surrounded by bee hives. If you have a bee allergy don't even take carryout. Only a matter of time this places closes with there halfway open attempt. Enjoy dining outside next week with gloves and a snow hat.

We were just passing through Lawrence for a night, and when I asked our Airbnb host for the best breakfast place she recommended the Roost. So glad we followed her advice! The interior has a warm, industrial vibe and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was amazing! We both got the French toast with eggs and bacon and a side of biscuits gravy, and I recommend everything- it was all so delicious. We also got a few treats to-go: the salted dark chocolate brownie, cinnamon roll and homemade marshmallow, which were all very good!
