Our family spent years living overseas in the Middle East. One of my most favorite experiences was shopping in the traditional markets! The pride the shop owners took in what they were selling and the experience of spending hours and hours sipping tea and looking at hand made carpets.. I was really missing that. And then I found the Global Local and proud owner Tyra Flynn! She not only celebrates her vendors but takes such pride in connecting with each and every person who comes into her shop. When I went in their was tea brewing and she offered delicious local chocolates. I got to take a jewelry stamping workshop (which I had never done before) and it was a great way to try something crafty and meet some other local ladies! I highly recommend checking out this shop for the holidays... there is literally something for everyone and the best part is it’s affordable. If you are looking for a fun weekend outing, you should visit the Global Local! This hidden gem is a must see!

A beautiful place you shouldn't miss. Just a short walk off King St. down on Loudoun St., not too far from the strip. You will be greeted with scents made by local artisans and if not local, an artisan supporting a good cause. Located at the lower level of a beautiful historic building, you won't stop looking around Tyra's curated products. Everything is unique, creative, a combination of traditional and modern flare, very reminiscent of the assortments you find in local markets in different countries. She's done such an awesome job, tastefully placing and decorating the shop. It has the warm and country feel without being crowded but also has the modern style without feeling cold and out of the box. This place has something for everyone on your list for any occassion.
Tyra is an amazing owner and source of knowledge and resources. Her eclectic style makes shopping at The Global Local fun and unexpected, you never know what you will find. Her personal touches make it a great shopping experience for anyone, on any budget. Highly recommend this business!
This is a great gift shop filled with unique handmade gifts from people who live locally and from around the world. I have been very happy with all my purchases there. The owner, Tyra, is very friendly and happy to help in any way. The location is really cool too as you have to go downstairs from street level into this basement shop. You must stop in during your visit to Leesburg!

Excellent products, but even better is the friendly and amazing customer service. Good to see products from all over the world that actually give back to the communities where they're made, instead of mass produced items with little or no stories to tell. Highly recommended.
A great gift shop in historic Leesburg with items made from around the globe. We picked up several unique gifts that were well received by our friends. I was also in awe of the building, which I learned is the second oldest building in Leesburg. The shop is located in the basement with a majestic entrance.
The ambience is terrific. Unique and nice artifacts sharing just being beautiful. Artisan well-made goods made one at a time instead of being mass produced. Support of community and good causes. The Global Local just makes you feel good and happy.
